Living In Keppel Township, Grey County, Ontario

George Perkins arrived in Canada in 1850 having come from England, where he was
born in Milton Damerel, Devon circa 1830.  Initially, he lived in Belleville but moved to a
farm in Keppel Township with his wife Joanna.  At this writing it is not clear if George and
Elias came to Canada together but given they were only about one year apart in age it does
seem possible.  It also seems possible that they chose to start their farm together at the same
time.  The census shows the two couples, in their mid-twenties, were living in the
same log house in Keppel in 1861.
Below, is a map of Keppel Township and I've indicated in red where their farm was.
Hopefully, I've made the correct calculations.
I've also included a present-day map of Ontario to show where Keppel township is
located in the bigger picture, as it were.

Below:  This is interesting because it helps to pinpoint the
date when the Perkins brother settled in Keppel.  We know they
were there by the time the1861 Census was taken so it would
seem from this they must have come between 1855 and 1860.
